POOCH OF WEEK?!?!?!

Name: LUCKYYYYYY

Owner: The DeArmey Family

Age: 10 or 11

Lucky is a lucky, lucky dog. He was rescued from a dog pound in the heart of Virginia. With that sad face of his, how could you not deny him??? Out of all the dogs I have ever met, Lucky has the most dominance out of them all. He is the king of all dogs. He runs the dog community. However, I don’t think it would be possible if it weren’t for his location at the DeArmey homestead. The DeArmey house is like the base for the pooch community. He always gives an alarm whenever something is sighted near the base. Lucky is known to the dog world as the Luck Pharoah. Although Luck is the pooch emperor, it doesn’t mean he can’t enjoy the joys of a regular dog. He loves a good stick, and his favorite toy currently, is a squeaky rubber pig. He also knows a a nice combination of tricks. If a treat is insight, Lucky quickly sits, shakes, shakes other paw, lays, and rolls over. Good news las perras, Lucky is a bachelor, so if any lil dawggg out there is looking for a nice time out and about, look for Luck, he normally roams the streets making sure everything is calm and collected. Keep reigning Luck, and keep the poochies first.

An embarassing moment for Lucky, as he cant seem to find his crown.

As for the Weather:

Tuesday-Thursday: Mostly sunny. Highs: upper 80’s to the lower 90’s. Lows: Mid to Upper 60’s.

Friday- Few Showers. Highs: Mid 70’s. Low: 65.

Saturday- Remnants of Hurricane Hanna will likely hit our area. High: 83. Low: 63.

TROPICS:

Hurricane Gustav continues to slow down and just pour rain in Northern Louisiana. They are going to get loads of flooding up there, hopefully those Levees will hold, and New Orleans will have dogded a huge bullet. Hanna has become a hurricane! It is a Category 2 storm with sustained winds of 80 mph. It is expected to hit anywhere from the northern east coast of Florida, to North Carolina coast. As you can see there is a huge amount of incertainty in Hanna’s track. However, it is expected that a ridge over the West Central Atlantic will stregthen and cause Hanna to turn Northwest and into the east coast of the US. However if that track is more north than expected and Hanna hits North Carolina and near the Outerbanks, we could experience more tropical like features here. Right now it is expected we just get rain and thundershowers on Saturday. One last note, Tropical Storm Ike has formed far out into the Atlantic, and expected to affect the lower 48 early next week.

Update/Forecast

Sunday, May 11th, 2008

Okay!!!! Sorry I havent been updating continuously. A couple of fellow viewers have complained how little I have updated the site in the past couple weeks. One person in particular, was extremely worried that the weather hadn’t changed in over two weeks. Very funny. Because I feel sorry for my viewer, I must make it up to them somehow. So you will be Pooch of the week. It is my pleasure to announce this week’s Pooch of the Week!

JmitchJmitchJmitchJmitch
Name: John Mitchell

Owner: Stray

<>Description:

<>Don’t let those glasses fool you ladies. This guy is the koolest pooch to walk the streets of Greenbelt. He will serenade with his sweet melodies of the baritone. If not amazing you with his musical talent, he loves to have a good time out and about. Taking walks on the beach and visting the petting zoo is a favorite of his. At times he can get a little out of hand. After all “adventurous” is his middle name. So the next time you see J-Mitch roamin the streets, show him whats up.

<> I hope that now Mr. John Mitchell will fully accept my apologies for not updating the website so continuously. Anyways, as for weather…<>

We have a lottt of rain coming to us today and tomorrow. Flood watch in effect for our area all the way till Monday. The low pressure system is located in the midwest right now, and its going to just whirl in loads of moisture. Tonight one to two inches of rain can be expected, with and additional inch of rain Monday. Because the ground is already extremely saturated, there is a huge risk for floods. If you are in a flood prone area take precautions today because it will flood. Thunderstorms are not expected with this system because its going to be pretty cool here when the rain moves through. This means the will not be unstable and conditions will be not favorable for storms. I will update if any other weather advisories are issued. Check for updates later.

<> On a final note, I would love to say thanks for all the “Pooch of the Week” nominations that have been sent to me. I’d like you to know that there is a list going, but your pooch will be up soon!!!

Description

Sy is a Catahoula Leopard dog. He is extremely smart, able to sniff out food from hidden place, and almost always entergetic. The Catahoula is the state dog of Louisiana, and has roamed North America longer than almost any other dog. They are known to for their herding and Sy demonstrates these from time to time. Sy will occasionally jump from side to side, and scratch people inadvertantly. It was noticed from the start that Sy just wanted to be loved. While Sy was in the pound he was just vying for our love and attention. Now that we love him, he gives us all of his love back. Pooch of the Week!!

Name: Beethoven. Owner: Phillip Holbrook. Age: 12

Beethoven

Beethoven is 12 years young and still lovin life. He is a true success story and looked up to in the Pooch world. When Beethoven was a young pup, he was found on the side of the road in the Blizzard of ‘96. This is when the Holbrooks adopted Beethoven into their family. Ever since he has filled the world with joy. Beethoven still lives his life to the fullest. He enjoys chasing squirrels, fetching rocks that are thrown out of site, and catching flies and bees in mid-air. While playing jubilantly outside, he is calm inside. He is well mannered at the dinner table and always obeys commands given to him. We are lucky to have Beethoven in this world, and he will forever be seen as a hero to many young pooches. This is why Beethoven is Pooch of the Week.

(email me a photo of your pooch, and a short description at elmexicano3562@yahoo.com to enter)
