Poochie’s Weather

I was away on vacation this weekend, so I am just now looking at all the weather stuff.

The storm tomorrow is looking not so good for us. It will start as snow, with a slight chance of snow showers from 7am-10am. This isn’t too promising. After 10am it is supposed to warm up really fast. Already 35 degrees by 10.

If we were to get anything tomorrow we would get a delay. However this is unlikely.

In past events we have gotten very lucky, and a snow shower got through to us and dropped a quick dusting of snow. This could always happen as the very beginning of the system moves trough. We need luck.

I will update at 9pm with final predictions.

I apologize for the lack of a two-hour delay this morning. If its any compensation, I know why we didn’t get out. Its not that complicated.

<> It wasn’t really the lack of snow. All night we had a very light light snow. When you left for school you should’ve noticed about an inch or less of new snow on the ground. On the ground, but not on the roads. If it were on the roads, it would’ve been a definite two-hour delay, atleast.
<>Yesterday the temperature around here got up to the mid 50’s. These temps warmed up the roads pretty good. This warmth stuck around. Before the end of the day, the road temperatures were in the 70’s! How crazy is that.

Even though it was below freezing last night, the roads kept some of their warmth from the previous day, which caused every single flake of snow to melt on contact.

What a crappy storm. Winter Storm Warning has been lifted and turned into a Winter Weather Advisory. Low pressure never ever got organized enough and came into our region. And additionally, its just too warm. Everything is melting, and the rain is unable to freeze on contact. So yeah, we are lucky that the storm dropped about an inch of snow last night. Because this storm is a dud….
